# Axisymmetric Coordinates

- MOOSE supports axisymetric coordinates
* i.e., cylindrical coordinates ($$r$$, $$\theta$$, $$z$$), where the problem is symmetrical in the $$\theta$$ direction.
- The axis of rotation is controlled using:

- MOOSE assumes the problem is symmetrical about specified axis
and automatically applies the proper coordinate transformation

# Spherical Coordinates

- MOOSE supports symmetrical spherical coordinates
* i.e, spherical coordinates $$(r, \theta, \phi)$$, where the problem is symmetrical in the $$\theta$$ and $$\phi$$ directions.
- Enable spherical coordinates using the following input file syntax
